First element of some slides requires two clicks to animate

I am putting a presentation together which includes appear animations on several of the bullet points. On some of the slides, there seems to be a phantom animation that occurs before the first animation such that I have to click twice to show the first element. When moving backwards, the first animated element will not show at all until I have stepped backwards through every other animation & then clicked back one more time; then I can click forward as if I had just moved to that slide. I’ve attached an presentation with everything normal on the first slide and the double-click problem on the second.

Why is this happening? How do I correct it?

I’m using LO 7.1.4.2 running on Kubuntu 21.04.

Double-click Example.odp

I was able to recreate the problem at the beginning of the second slide. I think it is a bug.
