I am setting up a letter heading template. It uses an Arial font with outline and shadow. Selected text in the header is set at 1% transparency. Once saved as a template it can be called for use as a document. When that document is saved, it is saved WITHOUT the transparency, so cannot be reprinted later. How do I get the saved document to follow the rules set in the template please?
Please edit your question (click on … icon below it then on the pencil tool) to provide more details on what you’ve done. What you call a template may not be what Writer manages as a template.
- In which format do you save? .odt, .ott, .doc(x)?
- How do you create your letter instance? Double-click on “template” then save under another name?
File
>New
>Templates
? - How do you set transparency? Direct formatting or style application?
As usual, don’t forget your OS name and LO version. Tell us how fluent you are with Writer and its style system.
I am brand new with this programme being a refugee from the other place. There are no extensions on any of the files in Libra office. How do I turn that on?
I go to the template folder and double click on the file there. I then save the completed doc in another folder where I can get it if I need it. I will try saving the final doc in odt
Transparency is set by highlighting the words, then format>character>font effects>tick outline and shadow and set transparency to 1%, then save to the template folder.
This file when called keeps the settings and transparency, but any file saved from it loses them.
My OS is Windows 10, and my LO version is the very latest 7.2.5.2
Yep. saving the doc in odt works. Thank you.
Sorry, How?
