Format changes to form field don't "stick"

I inherited a LibreOffice Form. The input fields are not consistent: some are 3-D and some are flat. I can define a new input field as 3-D and it works as expected. But when I change one of the existing fields from flat to 3-D it looks right while I am editing, but when I save the form and come back into it in “user” mode the field is back to being flat. I have tried explicit Saves to no good effect. What am I doing wrong?

Or is it this bug? 152974 – Forms: Borders of text controls switch to 3D if form has been edited in LO 7.5.0.1 and reopened in older versions ? If so, how do I work around it?

The bug you linked to has been resolved but there is now a new bug linked from that report. Bug 156707 is resolved for version 25.2, i.e. intended for release February 2025
.
As you are affected, you could try a nightly build on a copy to see if the issue is resolved. If not, then report back to the bug report.

You could use a formatted field instead of a text field. The bug has been detected for text fields only.

Thanks. There are ten or so fields affected. I don’t really want to re-define them all. Since the problem is purely cosmetic I think I will wait for the February release.

Thanks for your help.
