Consider this example (LOffice/Calc v 4.2.8.2):
- Open a new Calc document
- select first cell, type in
12:31
, then [ENTER] - Calc automatically shows it as 12:31:00 PM
- Don’t like this format, so select the cell, right-click, Format Cells… → then choose Category: Time, Format: 13:37 (Format code: HH:MM), press OK
- Now the cell itself is in 24h format
However, if I’d want to edit the cell from the formula bar, I can notice the format in the formula bar is still the same old one with AM/PM:
And this irritates me majorly, because I’m used to 24h display, and I tend to write say 13:00
in the bar (or cell), upon which I immediately get an error, since there is no 13 in 12h display.
So how can I change the default display of the formula bar to be 24h time display, so I can enter times like 13:00
or 19:12
without a problem?
