Formatting Help

Hey guys, I just downloaded LibreOffice, and I’m having an issue with the formatting options. In Word, there’s an option to format all pages at once after you apply a style, but I’m not seeing that here. It wouldn’t be a big deal to do it one page at a time, but I’m formatting a book, so it’s a bit much. Is there a simple fix I might be missing?

I also checked the page styles, but it won’t let me delete any of the converted tabs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, is there an option to view the margins, like the old 2008 version of Word used to do?

from what ?
maybe attach a sample file … ?

Using Rulers

Turn on View - Formatting marks to see lines which define the margin of the page.

Writer formatting marks are in blue which doesn’t interfere with perception of the layout as much as black ones do so I leave them on all the time.

Writer uses page styles, change an attribute in the style and it applies to all pages of that style.

Word doesn’t have page styles so on import to LibreOffice any difference in a page becomes a new page style. This can mean that every single page has a unique page style although it is likely to be much fewer. You can see the list of generated page styles in the styles page of the Sidebar. Click on the icon with the tooltip Page styles.
You can apply a different page style to the page your cursor is in by double clicking it in the Sidebar. Alternatively, if you start from the front, you can delete manual page breaks to apply the current page style to the following page(s).
