Hi, I’m using Libreoffice writer. I need to use the square root formula. when i go to insert>object>formula instead of a menu with formulas, there is a text box that has the sign commands.
Can any body help me?
You mean this:
In the drop-down list Unary/Binary operators, scroll down and select Functions.
Above the “text box that has the sign commands”, there is a drop-down menu (displaying initially Unary/Binary Operators). Select Functions for the square root and other functions.
You can also type directly sqrt { x }
replacing x
with whatever should be under the radical (because formulas are described by a conventional “programming language”).
I recommend you read the Math Guide to learn how to write and format formulas.
*PS: I took the liberty to normalise the question tags, changing formula
to math
which is the name of the formula editor and removing libreoffice-writer
which is redundant with writer
.
