Hi everyone,

thanks for replaying. i tried that. it freezes 1st row but doesn’t freeze E,F, G columns.
now i found 2 solutions while i type.
A-libreoffice seems only freezing 1st row and 1st column. but not another column? (i would be more than happy i am wrong on this. i appreciate any corrections) so i could move my calculations to the 1st column. i can do this.
B-I could sort my main data tables in DESCENDING ORDER so the the E,F,G columns would remain static. i am going to do this.
thanks for the reply PKG
Consider moving columns E-G to A-C, then you can freeze row 1 and columns A-C
i just tried that but it doesn’t seem doing it.
i really don’t understand why i can’t freeze a column at all. freezing rows is simple. move the little seperator above the vertical scroll bar to whereever you want and it freezes anything above it.
i do the same on horizontal seperator and has no effect when scrolling up and down. all columns move up and down expect the rows i froze earlier.
note: now i realized that i was actually looking something like “scroll lock” as cells has data outside your view can be seen via scrolling with wheel of your mouse. i see.
now i revise my question.
"how do i disable scrolling in some columns or cells?
it’s clear that i was thinking all wrong. freeze doesn’t mean “freeze to navigate.”
when frozen, selected rows don’t move up and down and when froze a column it doesn’t move left and right.
i only wanted one portion of the screen to be navigate able using mouse or keyboard. which the area i added new data.
do you know anything about this? if exists?
Try View > Split window
. Drag the marker (small grey bar) for splitting from the end of the scroll bar to the middle. If you split horizontally and vertically, you will have 4 separate areas.

will do. thank you.
You can rearrange the totals to put them in the first 9 rows of columns A:C; then you can freeze until row 10.
