Fresh 3.5.3 from Ubuntu 12.04 repo Crashes

I’ve upgraded a few days ago to Ubuntu 12.04 from 11.04 going through 11.10.
I’ve installed Gnome 3 and tried to open an .ods calc file from OpenOffice.
No association was found. I Googled and removed OpenOffice and LibreOffice with the Purge option, then installed with Synaptic LibreOffice with no error.

Opening the same .ods file shows the LibreOffice 3 large icon then crashes. I have the crash report available. Can someone provide guidance please ? I’ve already looked for all I could.
