Handles on objects

The 8 square handles which appear round an object do not appear to be working correctly in Draw. They all enlarge or reduce the whole object irrespective of which handle is selected. not pssible to stretch or shrink in one direction only. Am I missing a constraint setting somewhere? Options has the resolution set to 0.5mm and synchronise axes is off.

Tools - Options - Draw - Grid

Uncheck the box: Snap Position: When creating or editing objects.

You can, instead, temporarily toggle the behavior of the handles using the shift key. Control may work for some types of computers, but shift works on a PC.
