Headers in text: Not enough space top and bottom? Is there a factory or industry standard setting? [Headings]

Greetings

I am writing a long document and ran into this problem:

  1. The pre-set headers on the top left “pull down” with the formats of text with HEADERS are too small padding top and bottom of headers set.
  2. IS there an industry or factory setting where I can set it to make it more padding on top and bottom for header 1, header 2, header 3, header 4?

I am not quite sure where you want the padding.

Headers and footers are included inside the page margins.

For each page style, right click on page, select Page style and adjust margins top and bottom.
.

For the distance between header and body of page, open the page style. In the tab Header you should find the setting for distance between header and page. The same for Footer

OP likely confused headers and headings.

I misunderstood, you want spacing below headings. From the sound of it you are using the built-in headings which is good news.

  1. If the Sidebar is not visible, then open it by clicking View > Sidebar Ctrl+F5
  2. Expand the Heading entry in Paragraph styles
  3. Right click on the first heading style that you want to change, Heading 1, and select Edit style
  4. In the dialogue that opens select Indents & Spacing and alter the Above paragraph and the Below paragraph spacing to your desired measurements.
  5. For the other heading levels repeat steps 3 & 4 for each heading style in use.
