Help with Captions?

Hi there,
I am having problems with chart and captions in the writer.

1. I generated a chart and modified it.
2. I pressed “insert caption” and wrote something.
3. When I close libreoffice and reopen it the caption is displaced and when I try to delete it, the whole chart gets deleted?

Please help, my assignment is due on Monday. Thanks in advance!

Clarification: Before closing the Caption is at the bottom. Also after reopening I can not copy the chart anymore, It just pastes the chart, that was preselected before.

Very important data needed: OS name, LO version and save format. For better analysis, attach a 1-page sample document.

It might be too late but I think it could be a limitation of docx/doc format that you are saving it as.
Proposed new steps

1. Generate chart
2. Right click the chart and select Insert Caption and add caption as normal.
3. Right click the chart inside the outer frame and select Anchor > As Character
4. Save
