Hidden cells

I have a number of hidden columns (Columns L to P) in a spreadsheet that contain formulas. When I insert new rows of data and fill (not copy) columns K to Q to the newly inserted rows, the contents of the hidden cells do not get filled.

This procedure works in Excel 2016, should it also work in LibreOffice Calc?

No, it should not work that way. It is common agreement, that hidden cells must not be affected. See e.g. tdf#35345, tdf#44545, tdf#45020, tdf#56799 or tdf#81803. (tdf = https://bugs.documentfoundation.org)
