Why doesn’t the “hide comment” work? I save and close the file and when I go back into that file all the comments display again. Help!
Menu View → Comments (enabled/disabled) works fine for me (with LibreOffice 4.2.4 on Windows 7).

Tools → Options… → LibreOffice Writer → View → Display → ☐/
