The other day I upgraded to 7.2 and lost access to my files. They are there in thumbnail, but cannot open. Windows 10

I assume you can open LibreOffice itself ?
As an update of the program does not change your files they should be available for LibreOffice.
When this is true, try to open a document via the Menu File->Open
If you are not allowed to open the files, check your Anti-Virus and possible App-Protection in Windows. They may see the new version as “maybe malicious altered” and prohibit access, and you have ti announce “I updated, so this prog. is ok”
If you can access the files from within open office, then maybe only the relation of file-type and program is lost. Try to open with right click, select "open-with " and then LibreOffice-… There is also a button “always use this app”.
