How can I cause an illustration to be repeated?

I have a longish document where I have an illustration near the front. At the rear of the document I would like to repeat the illustration, without having to store two copies of the illustration in the document source. (It’s big enough as it is.)

Platform: Linux Fedora 25
LibreOffice Version: 5.2.5.1

Hi

LibreOffice only includes one picture in the document if you insert several times the same picture…

You can check it by unzipping the document and looking in the Pictures folder

Yes, we have a code that checks images’ control sums to decide if it needs to be stored, or if it already is.

In a not very elegant way, you can create a paragraph style where you store the picture as the paragraph’s background. Then apply the style to some empty lines until the whole picture shows. You can tweak the picture’s size when you insert it into the style.

The easiest way is to use a section and the Navigator.

Insert the first image inside a Section (Insert → Section). Now, on the Navigator change the “Drag mode” (last button to the right) to “Insert as a link”. Finally, pick the section with the image from Navigator’s list and drag&drop it to the point you need the second image.
