I changed the Title and Edition fields in the database but when I update the index the old values are inserted and not the new values. I have deleted the Bibliographic table, reinserted the table, and done an update without any change. The document type is Tech. Documentation and the Entry style is Au: Ti, Pu Ed Ye.
Not sure about my explanation. When you select a new entry to be inserted into your document, I suppose a copy is made inside the document. This copy is detached from the database. This means any later modification in the database will have no effect on your document content.
To change an existing entry, don’t use Tools>Bibliography Database. Instead, right-click on the entry (in your text, not in the generated bibliography) and Bibliography Entry. You can also double-click the entry. The dialog offers an Edit button. After editing, you can update the index and you’ll see the latest value.
