I’ve produced a number of pages in Writer and want to transfer them into slides for a presentation.
How do I do that?
Edster,
Do you want to preserve the content layout?
If (!) the Writer pages’ layout is suitable (landscape) you could export into a pdf file, pdf file “print” into single images and then perform the images into an Impress Photo Album (menu Insert | Media | Photo Album).
Text is in landscape layout. Making the Write doc into a pdf for copy as an image sounds excellent. Great idea. Thank you!
Open Writer and Impress.
Mark as much text in Writer as you want on a slide in Impress.
Copy the text in Impress onto a blank slide. And so on.
Tried that. When I highlight text from Write, it often only captures the first line or else truncates it. It might leave off a portion of the sentence or even slice the line longitudinally. An additional problem. And it doesn’t seem to adjust the copy proportionately to fit the slide. Frustrating.
FYI – regardless of what “support” puts out THERE IS NO WAY TO IMPORT A WRITER FILE INTO AN IMPRESS PRESENTATION, EVEN IF THE WRITER FILE IS PRINTED AS A PFD. Don’t waste your time trying, you’ll be sorry.
What @Grantler posted works for me:

So, there is some ways. Maybe you must try to reset your user profile.
