How can I create shortcut keys?

I have tried to create shortcut keys and received the message that I needed to install JRE. I have installed the latest Oracle JRE but still cannot create shortcut keys. What is wrong?

Menü Tools>Customise in the tab “Keyboard”.

How to install Java (JRE/JDK) so that LibreOffice could use it?

I wish you success!

This message is misleading. You don’t need JRE to create shortcut keys.

  1. Please mention your LibreOffice version. If this is reproducible in current version, it’s something that needs fixed.
  2. Please ignore the message, close it and proceed normally.

I’m using version 6.4.0.3. It appears to assign the shortcut key, but when I try to use it all I get is a semitransparent image of a microphone symbol at the bottom of the screen. I’m trying to assign a macro to key F4. Should I be using another key? BTW, I have reinstalled the software.

I’m waiting for a response to my previous message.

That only means that your operating system intercepts the shortcut key, and does something different, instead of sending the key to the application (LibreOffice). Likely you have some resident application helpfully doing that for your convenience (yes, that’s sarcasm ;-)).
