How can I customize the background color of the left panel in the Start Center?

I want to change the background color on the left in the start center, can anyone help ??

The definition for this particular background colour appears to be hardcoded in /core/sfx2/source/dialog/backingwindow.cxx as #72a854 (114, 168, 84) i.e., TDF green.
