How can I easily remove and use certain sentences that come contained inside boxes?

Hello,
I sometimes find articles that come with sentences insides boxes. I do not know what you call these items so could not find any answer to my problem. I want to use some of the sentences for myself. Unchecking the “Boundaries” command did nothing except remove the boxes but did not allow me to manipulate the words. I can use CUT to remove all words from a box then PASTE and use them as normally elsewhere but it is time consuming. I can then use Delete Rows to remove the empty boxes.
Unfortunately the boxes that contain the below sentences won’t transfer into this letter, but the top sentence is in 1 box and the rest are in a second box.

Before you go shopping around the world, please don’t use a free VPN.

Most are based in China, and they make their money by logging, tracking and stealing your data. The whole point of a VPN is privacy, right? So if you’re using a shady one, you’re trading one set of spies for another.

So do you have any help that with 1 command will make everything in the multiple boxes revert to what would be ordinary useful paragraphs?
Thanks very much

It looks like your “boxes” are table cells. However, to make certain, please, attach an example file to a comment (not an answer!).

Mention OS name, exact LO version (from Help>About LO and save format. There are differences (some subtle, others not so subtle) between platforms and versions; so thisinformation is important. Save format (odt or doc(x)) will tell us how stable and reliable our advice will be. Only odt offers full guarantee.

Thank you for responding but I 'm not sure I can offer the information you need. I use Win11 but do not know what LO means and could not find it out (What does LO mean?). My enclosure is in the .odt format but I do not know what format the original was written in. It does say it is a Table File but that is all I can find. It and others comes from a blog about Internet and Computer stuff written by Kim Kommando at Kim Komandokim@mail.thecurrentnewsletter.com

Is there a particular reason to use a Table File to convey information rather than just writing it as a normal page, like writing these E-mails?
Sorry I cannot give you more information and any help you can give me is welcome.

Hi @tadm , to avoid disconnected flow, please refrain from using Suggest a Solution when adding information, rather click the comment bubble on the entry that you want to reply to, to create a comment.

LibreOffice

It can be easier to layout a document in HTML using tables. The writer of the document might be more comfortable using HTML, especially if they have a web site with similar information.

You can click in the table, then click Table > Convert > Table to Text

Thank you for your reply. I had to double click on the table to bring up Convert under Table, (otherwise it was lighted out). Convert brings up a new box with 4 main titles: Separate Text At, Options, Format, and Formatting. I did not know what to do so checked None under Format and that seemed to work. Should I have done anything different?

By the way if LO refers to the Version mine is 25.8.2.2 (X86_64)
Thanks again.

That option really shouldn’t be available as you are converting from Table to Text so the table format is irrelevant. It is there for when converting the other way. It is best to always have None checked in that dialogue anyway.

Got it. thanks again.
