How can I recover a previous version of a file

I saw a thread on this but I tried to follow the steps… and I just arrived at blank folders that seemed to show no files. I believe the auto backup thing is activated.

How to recover former version of document

I was working with a document, transferring it from Word to Libre office. When it asked if I wanted to save as an ODT document, over the document that already existed with that name, I thought I was just replacing the Word document with the ODT. But in another folder, there was a document with the same name, and it saved over THAT one. Is there any way I can recover the document from the other folder that I did not mean to erase??

I got stuck at this point, this is where I just arrived at the folders that appear empty yet they hold my files…

Have you active the option for backups? Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/Load Save/General
