Hello…
I was making notes and I typed over 100 pages document in 15 days but i think suddenly i pressed ctrl+n and ctrl+s now new empty file was saved with one letter as content .my document was lost. Now having one letter file…Plz plz help me out.I am in in very bad positon??My 15 days work just lost in 1 second.plz help me
If you pressed Ctrl
+N
, you did not delete your work but created a new document. The original one was still in some other window, maybe hidden under the new one. Of course, if you entered the same name in the Ctrl
+S
dialog, the document was overwritten on disk, but the old window was still there. Your situation became critical when you switched off your computer.
Your question is not related at all with LO. It is an OS issue. Since your question is only one hour old, you may not have switched off your computer or closed LO. In this case, look for the windows in the background.
Otherwise, try to find utilities able to scavenge your disk.Nowadays, files are not immediately overwritten. They are written afresh in an available area of the disk. Consequently, the old copy still exists, though inaccessible by normal means.
Sir can you please give other way…actually night I posted question but afternoon I had this incident…So is there any way to save me… ?Plz…desperate need…That file is there(overwritten) …is it possible now?
I understand that you closed your LO session. Sorry, this is hopeless. As mentioned, find an “undelete” utility adapted to your OS (Windows, MacOS X, Linux, other?) but don’t be too optimistic.
