How can I remove the update status icon from the menu bar on OSX?

The update icon in te menu bar is rather large and since there is persistent bug preventing updates on OSX, I would like to remove it.
Is there a way to do this ? I cold find an option for it.

I think in Menu/Edit/Preferences/LibreOffice/Online update - check for updates automatically.
