How can I save changed pdf export options?

Current updated version of LO Writer (probably all apps), which is 3.5.7.2 on my Ubuntu 12.04 system saves a 63K .odt file as a 2.0M .pdf. I get an error message saying that Transparencies have been removed, but I don’t thing I have anything like that. just text, a small table to organize text (no macros or formulas), and an 8K /png file. If I uncheck the “PDF/A-1a” box and check nothing else, then the file size is back to what it would have been before recent updates (about 150K).

So where can I make this un-checking change permanent? I looked through Tools → Settings, but couldn’t find anything.

Thanks,

Well, when I export to PDF via File → Export to PDF, LibreOffice remembers these setting for future usages (including use via toolbar button). So there you set it up, export once and for all (until you change it again).

Note that PDF/A-1a is so large because, basically, it’s image. It’s written with intention to make it readable in any future, even when, for example, all fonts we are using now become outdated, and all software like we have becomes obsolete.

About transparency: png may have it.
