How delete caption and frame?

I am trying to clean up a file created by other people. One caption is a mess and I would like to delete the caption and frame and start over. However, it is not clear how to do that.

I already deleted a previous caption, but the frame still retains a space for the deleted caption. I have seen other suggestions for how to delete the frame but need clear instructions.

Why not just overwrite the caption?

There is an extra paragraph return that I can’t delete. It makes the frame too big.

There is no tool to delete frames keeping the content. You need to

  1. cut the content
  2. delete the frame
  3. paste the content

That’s the only way :frowning:
