How do I calculate cells in column containing both text & numerals?

I am unable to calculate columns due to the letter ‘C’ being added to the cell. This is how I received a series of 140 transactions from an e-commerce site in CSV format. Is there a way to calculate each column like this using SUM and a code or do I have to remove the letter ‘C’ from every single cell just to calculate a column? The later is not an option I want to endure.

Just split the column into two, using space as column separator, as explained in the FAQ.
