I have a document that’s 28 pages. It’s a daily meal log. Actually, it’s 2 documents. I have a master weekly meal log document that runs from Monday to Sunday. At the end of every week, I open the master meal log, select the table & copy & paste it into the main document at the end of the document. I enter what I have for breakfast, lunch & supper. It’s annoying to open the main document & scroll to the end of the document to enter the day’s meal. I can choose “Go to page” & enter the page number & go to that page. My sister suggests that I update the main document to start at the last page instead of the first page every time that I open the document. How do I do that?
Check you added your name in Tools → Options → LibreOffice → User Data Documents should then open at the location of the cursor at the last save.
Tools → Options is under LibreOffice → Preferences if you happen to be on a Mac.
For best advice from us, please specify your LO version and operating system.
Pressing Shift+F5 should take you to the last cursor position that anybody was at.
.
Ctrl+End should take you to the end of the document.
I have Sonoma 14.7.6 & I have Libre Office version 25.2.5.2.
When one opens a document, it traditionally opens to page 1. My document in question has 28 pages, so it takes a while to scroll down to page 28. I can grab the vertical thingie & drag it down to page 28 or I can click on “Edit” & then click on “Go to page…” & either enter the number into the text box or use the up/down arrows to select the page.
I created a master log document that has 1 week from Monday to Sunday. When I want to add another week, I open the master log & select the table & copy it to the end of the main document. It’s not very efficient, but it’s simple. I’m a firm believer in the KISS principle! And I don’t mean the rock group!
My sister suggests the I alter the document to make the last page the default page that opens. How do I make the last page the default page when I open the document? Do I make a template & copy the tables & text to the template? Suppose that I do alter the document so that the default page to open is the last page & I make a mistake, how do I correct the error?
