How do I change text orientation when rotating a text box?

Hello,
I’m trying to do the simple operation of rotating a text box. However. the characters don’t rotate with the text box, instead maintaining a vertical alignment. So, if I type “Hello” in a text box, and rotate it 90 degrees, it looks exactly like this:

H
e
l
l
o

This operation works as intended on a Linux device, but it works as described here on a Windows machine. What do I need to do to get my text to rotate properly?

On W10-64pro LO 5.2.7.2 can rotate text boxes the right way…

This particular problem was solved by removing Libreoffice, rebooting, then reinstalling. It’s not clear if this was caused by a bug or an errant setting.
