I added a floating frame to a LO Draw document. Big mistake! I have read the online helps which say you have to carefully select the edge of the floating frame to delete it. I have been trying for hours and cannot select it for deletion or anything else. Is there any other way of deleting a floating frame?
This looks like a bug, and needs a bug report. Please file it.
In the meanwhile, you may remove it like this:
- Open Navigator (
F5
). - Find corresponding OLE object on the relevant slide (page) in the Navigator.
- Double-click it.
- Press
Del
.
Note that after step 3, the object will become actually selected, although no visual signs of that (like selection grips) may appear.

According to my tests, the simple selection by surrounding the object with the mouse produces the same result: no selection mark but an object that has been selected and can therefore be deleted directly.

Yes; and you may note that when it’s selected, some toolbar controls change state (get enabled, like Cut/Copy or Align/Arrange).
