How do I fix suddenly being unable to add anymore formulas to my sheets?

I was working on my spreadsheet when I realized when it prints out that a field with a blank result will show as 0 (zero). So I went in to change them to IF functions so if the cell it is referencing is empty the cell with the formula will show up as blank. But I discovered when entering any formula (even when using the formula editor) it shows up exactly as I typed it with the equal sign and all when it references another page. Where the formula =$Start.U147shows up exactly as =$Start.U147 instead of giving the value in the cell on the Start page.
I realized that when I enter the equals (=) sign to start a formula it works ok until I click on to go to another page. If I click on another page the page I am on just blinks and if I click it a second time it will go to that page but it’s not in the formula anymore.

That shows all the other formulas on that page. It will also show the ones that show up like I mention above where it shows the formula as if it is just text. Now if I copy and drag a formula it works just fine, it only does the text thing when entering a new formula.
I did notice when entering the equal sign and clicking on another page, it puts a single quote (’) mark in front of the equal sign for some reason.
I just not discovered I only have that issue on that one sheet. I can create formulas that refer to other sheets on any other sheet and they work fine, so apparently it is just that one sheet.
There must’ve been some keyboard shortcut I accidentally hit that caused this but I have no idea what it was…

Attach your …ods without confidential data

That’s a lot of data that I would need to delete. It’s not really confidential, it’s copywrite.

On my undo list I do see something called Sort Shapes even though I have not done that and don’t have any shapes in the spreadsheet. But if I undo it all the way back to that I have no idea what I will need to redo…

I can send it to you privately (does this forum support private messages?) but I don’t want to share it publicly. It’s not my data that’s in the sheet, it’s for a game.

yes and yes, click on my avatar and then the message button on the right…

In this case the cell (containing the formula) is preformatted as Text. The entered Formula will not be recognised as a Formula, it will be a pure text.

Try the Ctrl-X - Paste as unformatted Text on that cell. The Cut will cut the fomat properties too, and the “Paste as Unformatted” text will Paste the ciell content only, but not paste the format properties.
