I’m trying to migrate away from Excel, I have a large spreadsheet that I want to use in Calc but my problem is that the spreadsheet links to word documents. It’s basically a set of multiple lists, DVD, TV Shows, Music. The individual items are each linked to a word document. Libre does a fine job of reading the documents, but Excel stores the local links as relative links, I can’t find a way to make Calc do the same thing. When I add a hyperlink to a Writer file it’s absolute which means my data is no longer portable. Is there a way to force calc to use relative linking.

I have both Save URL relative to file system and Save URL relative to internet checked already, but when I go into insert hyperlink in the menu, it opens hyperlink window when I browse to the document it inserts the full path. (C:\Data\Documents\My Documents\excel\Video_13\Cosmos A Spacetime Odyssey.odt). This way I can’t move my \Video directory to my linux box and have it work as all the links will be broken except for the old links that Excel inserted.
Thank You very much mariosv, it works just like you said. I added a new entry on my PC moved the calc spreadsheet to Lubuntu along with the file I was linking to and voila it worked perfectly. I think if it’s possible for the programmers to change the way full links are shown when only relative links are stored it would be more transparent for the end user.
