I have a data table in Calc with an advanced filter. If I change the filter criterion, the table doesn’t update. I have to reset the filter and re-enter it which is a PITA.
Is this as good as it gets?
Advanced filter it’s not automatic, you always need to run the filter again, but you need to stay in someplace of data range to reuse the filter.
It’s possible add a button to the advanced filter in Menu/Tools/Customize

Fwiw, with new filter criteria placing the cell cursor somewhere on the filtered data and invoking menu Data → Refresh Range does, well, just that…
