I have a spreadsheet with many tabs. It was converted from Excel some time ago by saving it to ods and fixing any issues.
When I click on the Name Box, I see the managed variables. That’s okay.
But as I scrolled the list down, I came across “Print Area” variables for each tab that look like “Z_493AB661_9335_11D2_8F98_00A0C92140D3_.wvu.PrintArea (tab)”.
I’ve looked at “Print Ranges” and “Manage Names”, but clearing has no affect and they don’t appear in “Manage Names”.
@Villeroy Unfortunately the only place the “Z_…wvu.PrintArea” names appear are in the Name Box. They do not appear Sheet>NamedRanages>Manage, or any GUI place that I can find.
@Zizi64 I haven’t been able to recreate. This ods spreadsheet was converted from an xlsm.
Since I could not seem to manage the “Z_…wvu.PrintArea” names (there are 29 of them) within Calc, I thought I’d do some poking around. I unzipped the ods file and grepped for the name.
A snippet is shown below. I thought it was interesting that on each name it shows, "table:range-usable-as=“hidden”.
I have been searching for “hidden named range ods” and came across the entry below, but nothing got rid of all those “Z_…wvu.PrintArea” names in the Name Box. The biggest negative is that they clutter up the Name Box.
I followed the links in the discussion below to modify the content. In short, I saved the file as a Flat XML ODF Spreadsheet (.fods), edited the file using geany and removed the PrintArea, reopened the file using Calc, double-checked the Name Box (they were all gone), and saved it as an ODF Spreadsheet (.ods) again.
