How do I get rid of the "Function Hints" that pop up below the cell when I'm trying to edit a function?

When inputting or editing formula cell-references or operators into a cell, a yellow pop-up appears with a syntax example. I don’ want to see the example pop up (it gets in the way of the mouse pointer). Can I turn that feature off?
