i have tried to search around without no luck.
From menu “insert” you can try “special character” and find the character you want.
Under GNU/Linux it also possible to use Unicode input: CTRL+SHIFT+u+ e.g., CTRL+SHIFT+u+df

here - with localized german LO, german Environment and also german Keyboardlayout - I type simply the ß
-key on Keyboard and voila - there is the … ß
without any further Information nobody can answer to your Question !!

In windows US-International keyboard installed (comes with Win). Alt+s gives ß.
