How do I make LibreOffice my default suite when I also have Open Office?

Hi all,

I’ve switched from OpenOffice to LibreOffice on my mac about a year ago and been really happy with the change. However, I’ve had to keep OpenOffice around on my computer because I have some old but important OO files that LO won’t read properly. Recently I updated my LO and, for good measure, thought I’d update OO as well. Now, however, my computer has set OO as its default word processing program, which is definitely not what I want. I’ve tried throwing OO away and restarting, but when I try to open files I get a message to the effect of “we can’t open this b/c OO is in the trash.” I can manually go in and make it open with LO, but it won’t default to it. Any tips?
