How do I open a document in xlsx format as a read document rather than read only. I am opening the file from my files not as an attachment. Many thanks for the suggestions, now able to open the files.

I am new to Libre and when I try and open a document with passwords it does not allow me to amend the document, is this possible without saving in a new name

Are you receiving these documents as attachments via email and trying to open the attachment?

Make sure the file and the folder it resides in have write permissions for the user who opens it.
