How do I open downloaded bank csv files

I download bank csv files for my account. If I ask to have these opened in Excel they open straight away. If I ask to have these opened in Libre Office Calc I get a file import screen which I cannot make open the file. How do I get around this, please? Sorry - forgot to say I am using Windows 10.

Hello,

I have not seen any problems opening .csv files thru the import dialog on LO versions thru 6.0.2.1 on Linux Mint. Why do you state it won’t open? Have you set the proper delimiter (Separator)? Character set (what bank did)? Text option? What happened when you selected OK button?

When that window comes up, make sure “comma” is checked under the “Separator Options”. You can leave the others in the same location checked.

When you check it, the sample screen below should display it correctly.

Please don’t “Answer” with what is actually a clarification/amendment to the question. You should edit the question and put that sort of things there. Answers answer the original questions.

And better provide a sample CSV and screenshots, and put the textual description right here, so that one doesn’t have to open a file to just see… explanation text perfectly suitable in the question body itself.
