The Libre Calc Spreadsheet copy-paste special does not seem to allow paste-special linked image.
My charts always use an inserted table linked to the data so the relevant data is always updated on the chart
Usually that can be achieved by copying a table and pasting it as a linked image to then be inserted onto a chart.
Some research and found Open Document Spreadsheets (ods.) do not support Charts-Data tables.
