I am trying to print business cards with libreoffice and I am unable to get it to work properly. The paper set up should be 10 5.08 x 8.89 cm cards printed with no margins in the middle and a 1.3 cm margin top and bottom and a 1.9 cm margin left and right. I was under the impression I could set my page size to the business card size I need then print multiple per sheet, but the program will not allow me to print on a letter size page. It is forcing me to print on “japanese postcard” despite my efforts to change it. Not only that, in the custom print tab it will allow me to select 2 side by side, but in the vertical box it will only let me type the numbers 3, 2, and 32 (that is I press the number 5 on my keyboard and it types in as a 3, for example). When I did a test print on letter size paper it came out tiny and centred on the page instead of oriented to the left like it showed in my print preview. I am printing on an Hp laserJet Pro (400 color MFP M475dn)
Would you please help me find the settings I need to print according to the format of my paper?
If you want to use the settings on the “Page Layout” tap of the printing dialog, then you should check “Use only paper size from printer preferences” in tab “Options” and first set the paper size in the printer properties on tab “General”.
Do you know, that there exists a wizard for business cards? That might work better for you than making all things manually. You find the wizard in File > New > Business Cards. Brand “Avery Letter size” might work as start and then go to tab “Format” of the wizard and adapt the arrangement. “Pitch” is the grid of card plus distance. If your settings are too large for the actual paper size, the page width/height in the lower part is adapted. You have to set it back to the real size, after you have corrected the other settings.
I will try this, Thank-you
