Hi, if you have a backup, you just need to recover them from the backup. While if you do not have a backup and cannot find them in the trash. It means you have permanently deleted the files, you should stop writing new data on it and download a third-party tool. Here are various choices. While if you want a free one, you can choose the Recuva or Bitwar Data Recovery. Personally, I recommend the Bitwar Data Recovery tool. Hope you can get back your data soon.
Specific details would depend on information about your OS which you haven’t provided. Sometimes there may be a Recycle Bin or similar where deleted files are placed, again depending on OS and manner of deletion. Generic advice - which applies to many OSes and any type of file:
As soon as possible do the following:
Download Recuva (Windows only) or PhotoRec for Win, MacOS, Linux and other OSes (only one needed) and let it do an in-depth recovery of deleted files on your computer. You may get a file containing some or all of your data (or not). Do this as a first priority; other use of the computer may overwrite any existing but deleted files and prevent their recovery. There is no guarantee that you will recover anything useful.

If you have deleted your documents using “Shift+Delete” key then data recovery of that document can not be done manually and you need a data recovery software. Also, one thing you should keep in your mind, don’t use that drive until you don’t get your data back. There are many data recovery tools available which allows to recover data for free, and if you want to go for paid tool then i would suggest you to try Standard version of Stellar data recovery. This software works really fine to recover data from any type of hard drives.
