I want to split a document with LibreOffice
into two sides. With the writing on the right and the left side blank.
@librebel gave you an answer for a 2-column document, i.e. with text in both columns. Your question suggest a different layout where your “blank” left “side” contains nothing. Is this really the case? If yes, there is a simpler solution based on different styles for keywords-and-questions and lecture-notes. @librebel’s answer does not address the synchronisation issue between the column, involving the creation of many sections. Please edit your question and I’ll give my answer.

To split your page into 2 columns, you could do the following:
- Select the menu
Format : Page...; - In the dialog that appears, select the tab called
Columns; - In the editfield called
Columns, enter the number 2; - Optionally set Column Widths, Spacing, and Separator Line, then click
OK.

If you use columns as librebel suggests, and you have substantial texts, you could have hell of a time managing all the column-breaks, AND this would interfere with usage of Table Of Content and such automatic features.
If these things matter, I’d go with textboxes for the keyword/questions-part.
All the main text-body can be aligned at some distance of your choice (2.5-3 inches), then with the cursor before first letter of a heading or a paragraph, insert a textbox; define size, font, outline, etc. Then you can copy this textbox, place the cursor in an appropriate location, and paste the textbox. This way you get consistency.
I don’t recommend using text boxes. Instead, use frames anchored at the associated paragraph (or to a character of this paragraph), though you may experience some difficulty positioning the frame. However, anchored frame will keep their relationship with the paragraph for which they are comments when the paragraph moves because of edition above it.
Frames are “more in the spirit” of LO since what is inside can be styled contrary to text boxes (=graphic objects).
Define a paragraph style named LectureNote with a wide left margin for your notes. Likewise, modify Heading x left margins so that headings start the same distance from left as your LectureNote paragraph.
This is most conveniently done adjusting left margin in Heading style because all Heading x inherit from Heading.
Define a paragraph style named Keyword for your keywords and questions. Margins are set to 0.
Define a frame style named Keyword based on built-in Frame frame style. In Type tab, set width so that it fits within the left margin of LectureNote with an adequate gap. Set Horizontal position as Left relative to Paragraph area and Vertical Position to Top relative to Paragraph Text. Set Borders as you like (see remark below).
Type your text using LectureNote and modified headings.
When you need some keyword or question aside a paragraph, put the cursor inside this paragraph and Insert → Frame → Frame. Immediately give frame style Keyword to the newly inserted frame. Type the keyword or question using Keyword paragraph style.
This is how it looks with a 5cm left margin and 3.5cm frame width.
I intentionally left borders around the frames which makes keyword frames higher than the short parent lecture note and you see the next keyword frame shifted to an incorrect position.
If you remove borders in favour of other means of highlighting a keyword, everything is back to expected. I only changed Keyword frame style and all occurrences where updated at once.
The advantage compared to the text box suggestion becomes obvious if you add text to the paragraph Another note without keyword (the same holds for other paragraphs as well): as new lines are added, frames #2 and #4 will shift with their parent paragraph while a text box, which is anchored at an absolute position in the page, will remain where it was put, whatever the changes to the document.
