I often take a screen shot of a webpage using PrintScreen & then I paste it into a Writer document. I then use the crop function to resize it & usually I then drag a corner of it until it’s the size that I want. On the crop tab, “Keep Scale” is selected & on the Position & Size" tab, I select both “Protect Size” & “Protect Position”.
Before I upgraded to LibreOffice 25.8.3.2, this would be stable. But since I upgraded, when I reopen a document with such newly-created images, I find that the images have resized & returned to the uncropped versions with altered scaling, save that the borders of the image are the same size as cropped image. This is most noticeable when the cropped image is of an equation as equations form only a very small part of the printed page before I crop them, so when the image reverts to its uncropped form there’s an entire scrreenshot inside a very small border.
This only affects the cropped images I’ve made since the upgrade. Those that I made previously are still stable and have never been resized or uncropped.
Is there any way to stop these images rescaling?
That’s not the case for me.
The cropping remains unchanged.

What do you think you’re doing that I’m not? Whatever it is, that might solve my problem.
Perhaps I should update to 25.8.4.2?
What format is your document saved in?
Provide a small sample document.
If your images only contain equations, consider using Math formula editor (accessed conveniently with Insert>OLE Object>Formula).
