In Calc when I press Backspace for a cell an annoying ‘Delete Contents’ menu pops up.
How do I stop it? ( I realise I can use ‘Delete’ )
When I use Cmd-X it deletes formatting and leaves an annoying flashing border on the cell.
Can I stop this?
Just use DEL
key for the function you are obviously looking for. The other key / key combination call a different function.
The ‘Del’ key is marked ‘Delete’ on my Mac keyboard. It is not available on my laptop (Macbook), only the ‘Backspace/delete’.
Maybe not the best idea, but you can swap the functions of the Backspace and Delete keys.
To do that, choose menu Tools
- Customize…
- Keyboard
.
By default Clear Cells is assigned to Backspace
, and Clear Contents to Delete
.
See LibreOffice Help on customizing Keyboard.
