I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04 over 14.04. I have a complete backup on a USB disk of 14.04. I developed some database applications in14.04 that I want to use in 16.04. How do I tell my new LO release about these applications? These applications included databases, screens for data entry, and queries.
There should be no problem with a change of OS. However with the OS change you possibly are upgrading LO. This should not present any problem with the possible exception of general settings - database registrations, macro security settings etc. Again, should not affect operation of applications. I move DB around various systems all the time - Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Mint and more.
The mentioned settings are located from menu Tools->Options
under LibreOffice->Security
and LibreOffice Base->Databases
.
Ubuntu, Xubuntu and Mint are essentially the same thing so there wouldn’t be anything that’d make a difference.
With that kind of thinking Windows XP and Windows 10 are essentially the same thing.
Well, there is more in common between Window$ versions than versions of same Linux distro, drivers being the big problem between non-adjacent Window$ versions since the next version is, usually, improved previous version; for example XP drivers are likely to not work in 7, while VI$TA drivers are more than that likely to work in 7. If there’re differences between the distros in the way you say, then I’m interested in hearing what.
