I just installed an update to LibreOffice and in the process I lost my shortcut on my desktop. How do I add the shortcut?

assuming you are on Windows 10:
- Open File Explorer (aka Windows Explorer)
- Enter
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\
into location bar - Select the LibreOffice sub folder (in my case it is
LibreOffice 7.1
) - Type
CTRL+A
(Selects all shortcuts) Right click -> Send To -> Desktop (Create Shortcut)
