How to align the picture when it is rotated 90 degrees?

On one of the pages, I want to display a picture rotated 90 degrees. I can do the rotation but then it just stays in the middle of page vertically, with white spaces on both left and right sides of it. I want to lean the picture towards left or right margin of the page, while it is rotated 90 degrees. How can I do this?

Mention OS name, LO version (all 4 numbers or, better, a copy of Help>About LO) and save format.

How did you insert the picture? Are you familiar with styles?

For best advice, attach a sample file.

There are two ways to do it:

  • grab the picture with the mouse and move it
Note: this is not the best way because you’ll “freeze” various parameters and the picture wont follow text modifications
  • customise the applied frame style (or create a custom one so that you don’t mess up other pictures) to specify position relative to the anchor point (the paragraph to which the picture is attached

Better advice when sample file attached.

It looks like
Bug 115934 - Bad position for rotated images (use unrotated image position values)

For now, it is better to rotate picture outside of Writer

Probably just right-click the image, select Anchor > To Paragraph and move to where desired.
