How to change the menu language from English to French in LO?

LibreOffice came preinstalled in the French language version installation of Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.0. Everything is in French except the menu. Downloaded the French language version, and reinstalled it, and nothing changed.

I read numerous articles on the subject and well aware of the incorrect LibreOffice instructions, which doesn’t work for any language version. My language option is locked on English and English US. Yet the locale, date format and currency format is Canadian French, which is correct. So, please don’t post links, unless you yourself solved this problem. Below is the installed LO info.

Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ee3885777aa7032db5a9b65deec9457448a91162
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: fr-CA (fr_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

@Hrbrgr - I regret your wasting your time. You didn’t didn’t read or understood my post.

That’s your question:

“How to change the menu language from English to French in LO?”

I hope someone else understands your question better.

If I read your system info correctly, you installed packages downloaded from Download LibreOffice | LibreOffice - Free and private office suite - Based on OpenOffice - Compatible with Microsoft.
Click on Translated User Interface: français which downloads a *.tar.gz file which can be installed like the office suite.

cd ~/Downloads
tar -xzvf LibreOffice_24.2.7_Linux_x86-64_deb_langpack_fr.tar.gz
cd LibreOffice_24.2.7_Linux_x86-64_deb_langpack_fr/DEBS
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Restart your office suite and select French UI language

@Villeroy, your assumption is wrong. I am using Linux, not Windows. This is a simple bug which is not yet attended to in the Linux version. If you are not familiar with Linux, don’t waste your time.

The image that @Hrbgr is displaying is copied from the LO manual is correct, but the underlying code is broken in the current Linux version. The displayed option for the menu language is not changeable.

I will re-post the question in the French language support community as well as the French language of Linux Mint.

@ineuw what part of Villeroy’s comment refers to Windows? It specifically says Linux and .deb

Turns out, my installation is the same as yours on a slighly older version of Linux.
If you can’t paste simple commands into a bash terminal, you better go back to Mordor.

@Villeroy. You are correct. I skimmed over the reply . . . The time passed between your comment and this reply, was spent discovering how LibreOffice manages language based options and changes, in both Windows 11 23H2, and Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.0.

Ok.
.
But consider: @Hrbrgr and @Villeroy both managed this for their language.

Thanks @Villeroy, the language packs solved the problem, but Mordor is out of the question.

The delay was in having to check LO installations in a French language community center. Every French installation was correct, including French Windows 11.

My French Linux Mint Cinnamon 22, installed last week, encountered a language issue on the first update after installation. I considered this to be the source of the LO’s locked language option.
