How to create a format like obsidian callouts?

Hi,

I’m looking to reproduce something like Obsidian’s callouts:

What would be a good approach do do this?

I don’t need it to be collapsible, just the open (uncollapsed) layout with the the colored box and all that. The final presentation format will be a PDF.

I’m using LO 7.3.6 on Windows.

Do you mean something like “Caution” and the margin icon here below?

Obsidian callouts seem to be collapsible while any text or object in Writer is “frozen” (just like you’d expect on a printed sheet of paper).

Achieving such a layout requires advanced styling skills, notably mastering those #!%?@* frames styles. You can however implement a simplified version with only the margin icon (simpler but still requires a frame).

Don’t forget to mention OS name and LO version. And note that it will work only if saved .odt because of the advanced features without equivalent in DOCX.

Thanks for pointing those missing elements out. I updated my request.

Yes, I think it comes close to your example…

What I"m thinking is that I can create a Callout paragraph style that looks like I want and have child Callouts for the different types I want. Then, I guess I can manually apply bolding and icons for the titles to get something like the Obsidian examples.

Maybe something without a frame will do, like this:

These representations are used in the document styles for LibreOffice documentation. They are based on paragraph and list styles and get by without frames with a single line.

Look at page 5 of the document.

Thanks, this is the closest to what I’m looking for and relatively simple to implement.
