Imho: Calc is not the right program for this. Use Base.
Images are not part of Calc pages, but only anchored, so expect problems for sorting and filterring.
Even for Base: If you consider printing: Reports are large tables. Expect problems when handling reports with more than 100 pinctures… (No big problem in my case, as we export to xml, and the problems have to be handled by the guys who work with InDesign afterwards.)
